Customising Ameol
Usenet preferences

< Previous  |  Next >

To change Ameol's settings for Usenet newsgroup articles, go to the Settings menu and select Usenet.

The 'Usenet Settings' dialogue box is divided into two or three tab pages - General, Headers and Servers. You will only see the server page if you are using Ameol with an internet account. To get more help on any of the options that appear in these pages use the Ameol help file and search for the name of the option.

General

This tab page gives options for the folder in which newsgroup articles will be stored and also allows you to set the automatic quotes for your articles. For instance, any article that you write in response to a newsgroup article can be prefixed with a standard introduction giving the title of the article you're responding to and the name of the author.

Headers

This page allows you to set up entries in the header of newsgroup articles that are sent from Ameol. Enter a Type and a Setting and click the Add button to add the new line to outgoing newsgroup article headers. By default, Ameol adds two additional header lines if you have an internet connection.

Servers

This page allows you to set up the servers from which you wish to retrieve newsgroup articles. You can associate a particular server with a newsgroup by highlighting the newsgroup in the In Basket and selecting Properties from the Folder menu. Now go to the Server tab page and choose the server from which you'd like to retrieve articles from the News Server list.
