Customising the Toolbar

Ameol provides toolbar buttons for many of the available commands. You can add extra buttons to the toolbar and also remove the buttons that appear by default.

To customise the toolbar, go to the Settings menu and select Toolbar.

The 'Customise Toolbar' dialogue is divided into two tab pages - Options and Customise. will appear. To get more help on any of the options that appear in these pages use the Ameol help file and search for the name of the option.

To change the format of the buttons on the toolbar select the Options tab, this will allow you to turn Tooltips on/off these are little helper tags which tell you what a button does, these come up when you point but don't click on a button. You cal also increase the size of the buttons, turn them '3D' and have labels displayed below them.

To change the buttons on the toolbar, select the Customise tab, a list of command Categories is shown on the left. Next to this is a list of command descriptions and Buttons available for the current category.

To add a button to the toolbar, click on the button that you wish to add and keep the left mouse button held down. A copy of the button will appear to float above the list of buttons. With the left mouse button still held, 'drag' the button to the place that you'd like it to appear on the toolbar. When you release the mouse button, the toolbar button will 'drop' onto the toolbar.

To remove a button from the toolbar, click on it and keep the left mouse button held. A copy of the button will appear to float above the Toolbar. Keeping the left mouse button held, 'drag' the button back into the list shown in the 'Customise Toolbar' dialogue. The button will disappear from the toolbar and reappear in the Buttons list.

You can also change the position of any button within the Toolbar. Click on the button and keep the left mouse button held. Now, 'drag' it to the desired position and release the mouse button.

The 'Customise Toolbar' dialogue also allows you to choose the size of the buttons and whether tooltips are displayed. Tooltips are small yellow labels that appear when you rest the mouse pointer over a button. Button size and tooltips can be selected by using the check boxes at the bottom of the dialogue.

When you have finished changing the toolbar, click the OK button. The Reset button will return the toolbar to its default settings.
