Customising Ameol
Conferencing preferences

< Previous  |  Next >

To change the settings that define Ameol's interaction with the CIX Conferencing system, go to the Settings menu and select Conferencing.

To get more help on any of the options that appear in this dialogue box, use the Ameol help file and search for the name of the option.

Aside from setting your CIX nickname and password, the 'CIX Settings' dialogue allows you to set the maximum message size that you're prepared to download, the number of messages that you'd like to receive when joining a new conference and whether you'd like to receive a copy of any email messages that you send.

You can also set the number of days after which mail is cleared from your conferencing mail basket.

Directory locations

Ameol allows you to set directory locations for a range of different data files. To set Ameol's data directories go to the Settings menu and select Directories.

The 'Directories' dialogue has two tab pages - Directories and Associations. To get more help on any of the options that appear in these pages, use the Ameol help file and search for the name of the option.

Directories

Use this page to specify the directory locations for data files. Ameol will look for the its various files in the locations that you specify here so if you move data on your hard disk make sure that the new location is entered here.

Associations

Ameol allows you to associate file types with directories. These associations apply to files that you download so, for instance, you could move all downloaded files with the extension .txt to a directory called TextFile, or those with .exe extensions to a directory called Programs.
