Ameol allows you to create different set-ups for other users. These set-ups can use different internet or Conferencing accounts and/or different Ameol settings. The user set up is not just to allow other people to use your copy of Ameol; it also allows you to use Ameol with more that one Internet or Conferencing account. When you first install Ameol, an 'Administrator' account is created that does not have a password. This gives you full control over Ameol without having to enter any passwords or identify yourself as the 'Administrator'. Once you have created another account, when you re-start Ameol you will be asked to identify which user set up you wish to use and to enter a password. It is worth remembering that the Administrator account will still not require a password unless you assign one. To create a new user or edit the existing users go to the Settings menu and select Users. If you have not created any user set ups you will see one user, 'Administrator', and a list of permissions. You can view the current user settings by user or permissions. Show By Permissions will show you all the users who have a particular permission and Show By Users will show all the permissions of a particular user.
Now select the permissions that the new user account can have, these include - Can be Administrator This gives the user full control over Ameol. Can run purge Allows the user to purge messages from the message database. Can create folders Allows new folders to be created in the message database. Can use Internet User can log on to the Internet account ascribed to this user. Can change preferences Allows the user to access the settings menu. When you have finished, click the Add button to add the new user account to Ameol. To finish setting up a new user account, you should re-start Ameol and enter the login name and password of the account that you have just created. Ameol will then run through the setup wizard (just as when you first installed Ameol) so that you can assign Internet and/or Conferencing account details to the new account.
