    > Why does Ameol say it cannot find all the parts needed to decode an attachment?
    > Ameol won't decode an attachment I've been sent in an e-mail. Why not? What- can I do?

Q) Why does Ameol say it cannot find all the parts needed to decode an attachment?
A)The most probable reason is that the e-mail has numbers in the subject (e.g., 'account figures 98/99') because Ameol thinks it is multi-part attachment and it cannot find the other parts. If this is the case try pressing the <Ctrl> key when selecting the "Decode Binary Attachment" on the Message menu.

If that didn't work, then you will need an external decoder such as WinZip

When attempting to decode a message, Ameol creates a .DAT file with the original message in it. Thus we suggest that you associate .DAT files with WinZip so that after the failed decode, you can simply double-click on the .DAT file and WinZip will show you all of the included files ready for extraction. (N.B., The .DAT file will be in your ~\Ameol2\Users\ADMIN directory. If you are using a different user, then substitute ADMIN with the appropriate value.)

Q) Ameol won't decode an attachment I've been sent in an e-mail. Why not? What- can I do?
A)First try pressing the <Ctrl> key when selecting the "Decode Binary Attachment" on the Message menu. (N.B., This does not work if you press the <Ctrl> and <U> keys together since that is the default shortcut to for File|Connect > Custom...)

If Ameol2.54 or later cannot decode the message try using the attachment decoder from Message menu.
