The CIX Conferencing web client (or interface) gives the user
access to CIX Conferencing, email, a calendar, an address book,
a document storage area, send SMS, receive FAX and a
telephone answering service.

The web conferencing client allows users to join conferences and
topics within conferences, read messages, post messages,
withdraw their own postings and to attach files to a posted message.
The client includes a Conferencing Directory of "open" conferences
and a daily feed on the Top 20 open conferences
All messages are displayed in a threaded format. Members can elect to
mark a thread read, a topic read and a conference read. They can
also book mark a message and set an alert by SMS or email when
messages are posted to specific conferences, topics or threads
that are of special interest.
Moderation tools are available to enable members to set up new
conferences. Conferences on CIX are "open", "closed" or "closed
confidential". "Closed" and "closed confidential" conferences are
not included in the Conference Directory. "Closed Confidential" are
only known of by the participants and CIX Administration. Access
privileges and the facility to withdraw the message of a participant
other than the posting member are controlled through these
moderation tools.

The web conferencing client includes the CIX Online webmail solution which
allows a conferencing user to access any number of email accounts, and also to
create a new mailbox on our servers. This gives the flexibility needed to
consolidate all your mailboxes within one simple to use client. However Email
is under attack. Levels of spam (Junk email) and virus infected messages are
reaching record levels, making it hard to tell the useful from the useless in
your mailbox. To protect you from this situation all email sent to or from our
mail server passes through our Spam and Virus Filter (SVF), which has been
shown to reduce spam by around 95%. With fully integrated contacts and a spell
checker our webmail client performs as well as a desktop client.

The conferencing client includes an online calendar and an online address book.
Both these include the facility of sharing information with another CIX
Conferencing member. Similarly the Document library allows documents,
photographs and recordings to be shared with specified members

Telephone conferencing is not done through the Conferencing interface but
setting up pin access and notifying participants that a conference has been
called by SMS. The CIX teleconferencing facility is aimed at people needing to
share discussion with little notice - from airports, building sites, from the
car. It's quick, easy and very effective.
